Cooker and oven element failures are usually pretty easy to diagnose as, the oven will only partially heat or not heat up as it should do.
In general, many heating elements can be a bit tricky to change, some are just downright awkward! It is therefore advised only for those with some good DIY skills and understanding.
In almost all cases the oven, if it is a built-in model, will need to be removed from the housing and panels removed to change the lower element. This is often not a job for novices but with patience, it can be done.
You will require, as always when working on electrical appliances such as ovens and cookers, to isolate the appliance from the mains power for safety.
Whatever you do, do not work in a cooker or oven that is live as it is highly dangerous to do so.
